North Tonawanda Healing Field! 2016

Tonawanda means the coming together of streams, and just as the Erie Canal and the Niagara River flow together, the Erie-Niagara Sunrise Exchange Club will come together with the Tonawanda Exchange Club to host a spectacular Healing FieldĀ® display of 3,000 U.S. flags for residents of Western New York. On the 15th anniversary of the 2001 attacks, the magnitude of loss is revealed by this solemn formation of flags. Terrorists mistakenly believed that their heinous act would divide us when it actually brought us together. Posted in perfect rows and columns during the days surrounding Patriot Day in 2016, the Stars and Stripes will fly in tribute to the victims of 9/11. The scene of red, white and blue flags flying against a blue sky presents an inspiring and memorable panorama that will draw the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan community together.

Visitors to this memorable display will come together in North Tonawanda that the mature may remember and that the youth, too young to remember, may learn. Proceeds from flag sponsorships will benefit the programs of the Erie-Niagara Sunrise Exchange Club and the Exchange Club of Tonawanda. There will be no charge to visit the North Tonawanda field of flags, and this is an event that must be seen to be fully appreciated, and is an experience definitely not to be missed.

Join North Tonawanda Citizens on Patrol, Air Force Association, and the Tonawanda Exchange Club in volunteering and honoring those lost in the 2001 attacks. We need volunteers to assist with this project on two separate days. Volunteers may come to assist at any time during the times listed below. Any help is welcome!
